Nyx's Story

NEWBIE ALERT!!

Yesterday, we received a frantic call about a beautiful Golden momma and her babies who had been dumped on the side of the road in Semmes—in a BOX.

We were originally told there were six puppies, so we sent a volunteer out to help. Once she arrived, we discovered there weren’t six babies... there were NINE. Momma and her nine babies had reportedly gone nearly two days without food or water.

There was no time to make the perfect plan. We scooped up this entire little family on a wing and a prayer, hoping somehow everything would fall into place—and thankfully, it did! Amazing fosters stepped up, and all nine babies and Momma Raven are now safe, fed, loved, and settling into foster care. ❤ï ̧

Even better, Momma Buffy already has a forever home waiting for her once her vetting is complete!

Her babies are approximately 5–6 weeks old and absolutely precious. Our best guess is that dad may have been a Black Lab mix. Funny enough, not one of these babies looks much like their beautiful Golden momma! Based on what we know, we believe they will likely grow into medium-to-large-sized adults, although adult size can never be guaranteed.

All nine puppies are doing well and have already started their vetting. They will be adoption ready at approximately 9 weeks old, after receiving at least two rounds of vaccines and being altered.

✠̈ WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS NOW AND THESE BABIES CAN BE RESERVED TO THEIR PERFECT FOREVER HOMES! ✠̈

Our adoptions are NOT first come, first served, and there is no fee to apply. We work to find the home that is the best match for each individual animal. We also never state that any animal is fully house-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, etc. can lead to accidents, even with the most well-trained animals.

All dogs have a $195 adoption fee, which includes a vet check, age-appropriate vaccinations (at least 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm testing (if over 6 months), rabies vaccination (if at least 16 weeks), and spay/neuter.

All healthy, adoptable puppies over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. Pediatric spay/neuter is an essential part of our rescue efforts, and there are no extensions or exceptions for healthy puppies.

Puppies/dogs whose vetting is not yet complete may be reserved with an approved application and a non-refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted after Wags & Whiskers has contacted you regarding your approval and specifically requested the deposit. The $50 is applied toward the adoption fee, with the remaining $145 due at pickup.

Wags & Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquiries and applications. Thank you for your patience and support! ❤ï ̧

WANT TO GIVE ONE OF RAVEN’S NINE BABIES A FOREVER HOME?
