Nyla's Story

Hi, I’m Nyla — A Sweet Soul Ready to Win Your Heart

Hello there, kind human! My name is Nyla, and I’m so happy you stopped to read about me. I’m a bright eyed, joyful girl with a gentle heart, a playful spirit, and a whole lot of love waiting for the right family. Let me tell you a little about myself.

I came from Yuma, where I was picked up as a stray, so my early story is a bit of a mystery. I don’t know where I lived before or what my life looked like, but what I do know is that I’m safe now and ready for a fresh start. These days, I’m staying at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, where I’ll remain until my forever family finds me.

My name, Nyla, is pretty special. It comes from Arabic origins and means “one who succeeds” or “winner.” Some people also connect it to the calm, life giving flow of the Nile River. I think that fits me beautifully. I’ve been through a lot, but I’ve come out the other side with a kind heart, a playful spirit, and a joyful love of life. I may not know my past, but I’m definitely winning at my future.

Based on my looks, my humans guess I’m a shepherd mix, possibly with a hint of Doberman or Kelpie. I’ve got long legs, a sleek coat, and the CUTEST ears you’ll ever see. They try so hard to stand straight up, but instead they point a little sideways and the tips flop over, giving me a permanently curious and sweet expression. And then there’s my short little tail—I might have been born this way, or maybe something happened before anyone knew me. Either way, it doesn’t slow me down at all.

Personality wise, I’m very sweet, friendly, and genuinely happy to be alive. I love meeting new people and greeting them with bright eyes and an enthusiastic hello. Because I’m a fairly excitable girl, I might get a little too excited around really small children, especially if they’re not used to large dogs—but with kids who already understand dog manners, I think we could do just fine.

When it comes to other dogs, I’m all about positive vibes. I don’t enjoy dogs who are too overbearing or pushy. I just want to be friends—run, chase each other, play, and enjoy being alive together. If you have a dog who’s friendly and respectful, there’s a good chance we’d get along great.

I’m not sure how I feel about cats, since I haven’t met any yet, and I don’t know if I’ve ever lived inside a real home before. That means I might need some patience while learning house life—but I’m eager, smart, and ready to learn what it means to be part of a family.

Here’s some good news: I’m already spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations, and microchipped, so I’ll always be able to find my way home—especially once that home is yours.

If you’re looking for a sweet, lively companion with a gentle heart, joyful personality, and ears that can’t quite decide what they’re doing, I might just be your girl. I’m ready to succeed at the most important thing of all—finding my forever family.

To meet me, please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be right here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, tail wiggling, ears flopping, and heart wide open.

Love,

Nyla

PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt.
