NY April (Foster in Carmel)'s Story
I can be met at Tractor Supply 1253 Route 311, Patterson, NY 11am to 1pm on Saturday, Jan 10th. (Since we have been having snowy/icy days, please check our website the morning of the event in case there is inclement weather and we need to change the event: https://pawsafe.org/events/)

Ready for Adventure: The "North Carolina Royalty" Litter
Age: 8 Weeks (Ready to go home now!) Breed: Plott Hound & Shepherd Mix Expected Size: Large (Approx. 50-75 lbs)
These four incredible pups are officially 8 weeks old and looking for their forever trail partners! Combining the Plott Hound (the state dog of North Carolina, known for its grit and loyalty) with the German Shepherd (the gold standard of intelligence), these puppies are the "brainiacs" of the rescue world.

What to Expect with a Plott/Shepherd Mix
The Nose: These pups have inherited the Plott Hound "cold nose." They love to sniff every blade of grass, so "sniffari" walks will be their favorite hobby!
The Brains: They are incredibly smart. Without a "job" or mental stimulation, they might find their own jobs (like re-decorating your throw pillows).
The Loyalty: Both parent breeds are famous for their devotion. These pups won't just be pets; they will be your shadow and your best friend.

Home Requirements
Active Lifestyle: They need more than just a walk around the block. Think hiking, jogging, or active backyard play.
Training Commitment: Because they are a powerful and smart mix, puppy obedience classes are highly recommended to help them grow into well-mannered adults.
Patience: At 8 weeks, they are still working on potty training and "land shark" puppy biting. They need a family ready for the joys (and messes) of puppyhood!

How to meet dogs listed with "NY" :
If the dog is listed with an 'Avail date" and a (location) - the dog cannot be met until the event and it is a first come, first served adoption event with the dogs being met in the order the potential adopters sign in.

If the dog is listed as being in a (foster home ie: Foster in Carmel) please email us at info@pawsafe.org and we will set up an appointment for you to meet the dog(s) that interest you at their foster home(s).

**** We are sorry, but we cannot adopt to Massachusetts residents. This is a Ma Dept. of Agriculture policy, not ours.
