Nutmeg's Story

Meet Nutmeg. Nutmeg’s story began in a heartbreaking way, she was found tied to a stranger’s fence, alone and abandoned. The residents had never seen her before, and no one came forward to claim her. Despite such a rough start, this 3.5-year-old terrier mix has shown incredible resilience. When Nutmeg first arrived at the shelter, she was understandably nervous and unsure, especially around some men. But thanks to the patience, care, and consistency of her shelter buddies, Nutmeg has come a long way. She’s made great strides with her leash reactivity and continues to improve every day. Once she’s comfortable, Nutmeg’s playful personality shines through. She absolutely loves a game of tug with her rope toy and has the goofiest zoomies when she's excited. Because she can get a bit overstimulated during play, Nutmeg would do best in a home with teens 14 and up who can respect her space and energy. Nutmeg is looking for a patient, loving home that can continue guiding her as she blossoms into the confident, joyful dog we know she can be.

If you are interested in learning more contact our placement team at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:
E: Adoption@hempsteadny.gov
E: Foster@hempsteadny.gov
E: Rescue@hempsteadny.gov
T. 516.785.5220

#Adoptashelteranimal #shelteranimalsrock #animalphotography #longislandpetparents #newyorkcity #longisland #LIdog #LIanimalshelter #adoption #adoptme #myforeverbestfriend #mansbestfriend #womansbestfriend #stunningpup #puppies #lookingforahome #upforadoption #dogsrock #dog #terriersrock #cutepittie
