Nova's Story
Meet Nova, our sweet energizer pup! Nova’s a 9 month old, purebred Australian Shepherd who found herself if a crate 8-12 hrs/day while her family was away. She’s as smart as she is beautiful! Nova is house trained, crate/x-pen trained, and knows her basic commands - sit, stay, down, and leave it. When it comes to meal time, our super Nova sits upon command and waits for her break command before eating.

Nova is very active and needs her person or family to be very active and/or have a large backyard with another active dog around her size with whom she can play all day. Nova gives you the best of both worlds - she LOVES and makes a great hiking, walking, or running partner and she’s also a world class snuggler. She also loves playing fetch and makes a great goalie if you’re looking to work on your soccer skills.

At no fault of her own, Nova wasn’t well socialized in her previous family so she still gets nervous meeting new people, especially men. But, she warms up very quickly and makes sure you don’t forget she’s there. She’s also a very vocal greeter and will let you know if you have any visitors arriving.

Nova does well with other dogs when properly introduced but prefers dogs closer to her size. She’s currently being fostered with 2 other dogs - a 25 lb terrier mix and a 50 lb Aussie/Retriever mix. We recommend Nova goes to a home without children or with older children due to her breed, age, and lack of socialization with children. We have not seen her interact with children (or cats) so we cannot speak as to how she will act.

If you’re interested in adopting Nova, please email muttluvrescue@gmail.com
