NOVA's Story

Nova (A142464) is a 6-year-old Lab mix who weighed 54.4 pounds on intake! 06/10/26 This happy girl is Nova! Nova was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of her own. She is a sweet girl who was said to do well with people of all ages, including babies and children. She was described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate dog. She was stated to be kennel-trained, housebroken, and to know her basic commands! However, it was noted that she jumps on people and was known to dig when outdoors. Nova did have some medical concerns addressed on arrival at the shelter including an entropion surgery. She has been medically cleared and is now looking for her new home! However, her new owner will need to continue with her weight loss and keep an eye on any future skin concerns. Nova can be particular when it comes to other dogs; it is very important that slow, safe, and controlled introductions are made to help set her up for success. She was stated to be most uncertain of other female dogs. Nova has no known experience with cats. Nova was said to have lots of doggy toys in her last home, but her absolute favorite was her human’s football. If you are interested in meeting this sports enthusiast, please let us know!
