Nova's Story

Meet Nova!

This petite package of sweetness is between 1 to 2 years old and only weighs 36 pounds. Nova is easy to handle, and her smaller size makes her the perfect companion for living in smaller spaces. She bonds quickly to her caregivers but is initially cautious of strangers.

Nova has a moderate level of energy, enjoying bursts of play, but is also content laying around in the sun or entertaining herself with a toy. Playing tug-of-war with her foster sister is also one of her favorite past times. And she enjoys burying her toys!

Nova was a teen mom so to speak and found herself in a shelter hoping for a better life. She still has a lot of puppy-like behaviors – she will grab a snack if given the option. But being food motivated, she is easy to train!

Nova is crated at night in her foster mom’s bedroom and is very peaceful but would probably love a spot in the bed. She should be crated when left alone. Initially she will bark but then settles. When family arrives home, she will remind them she is there and ask to exit her crate!

Nova is house trained and leash trained and loves the company of other dogs. She hasn’t been around cats or small children but with her kind demeanor she would likely love to grow up with children of her own!

Whether it’s going on car rides, walking with her family, or chilling on the couch, Nova is an easy-going dog who is excited to give as much love to her new family as they can take!

Nova is available for adoption on, or after, April 24th, 2026!

If you are interested in Nova and are an approved adopter, please contact your Adoption Coordinator to be added to Nova’s list.
