Nova's Story

Nova would like a calm home! This girl is 8 years old and weighs 48 lbs! She was a little nervous at first, but allowed me to pet her and leash her up. Outside, she didn't mind being near me, but really just wanted to sniff and explore! She enjoys running and made her way to the catch pen a couple of times, but always allowed me to pick up her leash. She needs a patient home who can make her feel safe. Our Behavior Team recommends supervision with kids under the age of 10 due to her shy and timid behavior. Come meet this big-eared gal today! ...

Kansas Humane Society of Wichita's Adoption Policy

Adoptions are available on a first come, first served basis - no appointment needed. Holds may be placed for a deposit by visiting KHS, or calling 316-524-9196. When you arrive at KHS, let our adoptions counselors know which animal(s) you'd like to meet in our visiting rooms or play yards. We encourage visits by all members of the household, especially kids and other dogs! *Must be 18 years of age or older (or accompanied by an adult) with a current photo ID. Must be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment, and proper care for your adopted companion.
