Oh, hello. Nova here. Been quite the year with my SORS fam! I celebrated 3 years around the sun and saw my surgeon twice for knee (TPLO) surgery and have at least 5 different versions of x rays of my sexy legs (thanks to all of you that supported to make this happen!)
My foster mom says I’m a genius. That sort of dog that knows so much and picks up things so quickly she almost can’t keep up and sometimes realizes she’s entered into a full negotiation about whether or not we are going to play tug right now. I won’t disagree. Look lady, I bowed and spun around for you, grab the slimey rope already!
Like many geniuses in history, I come with my quirks. I love my walks and playtime but I also love my space, I’m not a cuddler but give kisses. I can become nervous and react in small spaces so have my own exercise pen space rather than a crate as my den. I’m non-reactive to, interested in and ok to walk by other pups but haven’t graduated to play time… but I’d much rather play tug with my human anyways, I always win with her. I love long grass and sometimes like to eat it like the cow that I am when foster mom is distracted and I have a perfect record for picking up veggie scraps on the ground while dinner is being prepared. I guess I’ll concede that I’m food motivated.
Rescue fam says I’m looking for a family with:
? large power breed experience
? the confidence to provide me with the structure I thrive on (leadership not confrontation) and isn’t going to put me in situations where I may fail
? no cats, no children
? ideally a yard or large space where I can wiggle my big butt and swing my tug in
? the dedication to keep my mind (and body) busy. I’ve mastered at least 30 direct commands and many more words that I sometimes let foster ma in on. Dog puzzles, ha! Figured those all out, but please, keep trying. I love the treats :)
