Norton's Story

Meet Norton: 60 Pounds of Toddler Energy in a Grown-Dog Suit

Norton is a 3 year old, 60 pound Lab mix who somehow skipped the “mature adult” phase and went straight from puppyhood to… enthusiastic toddler. He lives his life with the confidence of someone who absolutely believes toys are a full-time job. Tossing them, pouncing on them, flinging them into the air, repeat for several hours. No batteries required.

Norton loves to run, zoom, and generally conduct business at high speed, so a physically fenced yard is a must. On a leash, Norton channels strong “toddler holding a balloon” energy. Direction is optional. Enthusiasm is not.

The good news? Norton is a dream in the car. He loads himself up like a seasoned road trip professional and happily watches the world roll by, judging other drivers silently from his seat.

He does well with other dogs and enjoys canine company, though he has firm opinions about rude behavior. If another dog comes in hot and aggressive, Norton is not impressed. Boundaries matter.

And when the toys are finally dropped and it’s officially nap time, Norton flips the switch and becomes an excellent cuddler. This high-energy goof is very happy to curl up close and recharge with his people.

Norton is both house trained and kennel trained, which means when he’s not busy throwing toys like an Olympic sport, he knows how to be a good boy indoors.
If you’re looking for a joyful, goofy, toy-obsessed companion who brings laughter, movement, cozy naps, and the occasional leash zigzag into your life, Norton is ready to move in and rearrange your daily routine. In the best way possible.

Norton is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm tested.

If you’d like to meet Norton, please fill out an adoption application at www.furfunrescue.org.

If you have questions about Norton you can email rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657.

Adopters must live within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Indoor homes only.
Adoption Fee: $300

Fur Fun Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our dogs are all in foster homes. We require a completed application prior to meeting one of our dogs. The adoption application is on our website: furfunrescue.org. Once the application is received, we check the veterinarian reference if you have or have had pets. Then we contact you to set up a time to meet the dog. If, after meeting the dog you want to proceed with an adoption, we will run a background check, call personal references, and do a home visit. We always introduce our dog to any current pets. The final step is completing the adoption contract.
