Norris 2's Story
Meet our sweet senior, Norris.

Norris is one of our longest term residents. He has been quietly waiting for someone to truly see him.

At about 12 years old, he is all heart. A gentle soul who just wants to be loved. Once he knows he can trust you, he leans in for belly rubs and butt scratches, watches you like you are his whole world, and is happiest simply being by your side. Walks, naps, snacks, and time with his person are his favorite things in life, and you can see the joy in his big, happy smile.

Norris has been overlooked time and time again. Not because he is not wonderful, but because he is older, and because being alone is hard for him.

He was found abandoned in a house, left all alone waiting for someone to rescue him. That experience stayed with him, and it is why he feels anxious when left by himself.

The good news is, Norris is not too much. He just needs someone who understands -- someone who believes that dogs like him are worth the time, patience, and love it takes to help him feel safe.

With a little planning, Norris can truly thrive. There are many ways to support him when you need to be away: a calm dog friend to keep him company, a friend or family member to help, or a trusted daycare. His foster is also happy to provide dog sitting/day care and continued support along the way!

What you get in return is something truly special. A deeply loyal, gentle companion who will love you with his whole heart and remind you every day what unconditional love feels like.

After 3 long years, Norris is still hoping his person is out there. Maybe it is you.

ABOUT NORRIS:

Age: about 12 years young
Personality: gentle, sensitive, incredibly loving, and devoted
Loves: walks, sniffing adventures, naps, snacks, and being close to his person
Energy: low key with joyful bursts (he lights up on walks, playing ball, and learning new things)
Ideal home: calm, quiet, with a retired couple or homebody
Kids: best in an adult home
Other dogs: enjoys a calm companion
Being alone: needs support and should not be left all alone, but there are great options to help him succeed
Extra support: his foster mom is his biggest cheerleader and will help with a slow transition, including built-in dog sitting and a free training session to build confidence and connection

He is in foster, apply on our website today if you're interested in him! email adopt@souldog.org with questions.
