Nori's Story
My name is Nori and Im looking for my forever home. Im a young girl, just 1 y.o. and I weigh about 20 lbs. I came to my foster home here in Lansing, MI, after being found alone and skinny. When nobody came to claim me, SIRA said theyd make sure that I found a family who would treasure me and keep me safe. Im still a bit shy and getting used to life in my foster home, but it feels so much better to be safe and comfortable and loved and have plenty of good food to eat. Im a good girl and will tolerate brushing and nail trims. I can be shy and spook easily when I hear unexpected or new noises, but Im also showing my foster mom how resilient I am. When something scares me, Im learning that I can go to her for comfort. The more I relax and feel safe, the more my playful and sassy Shiba personality emerges. I love to cuddle and play and if you scratch just the right spot behind my ears or on my bum, youll be my best friend for life! I love going for walks, digging holes in the yard, and playing chase and wrestling with the other dogs here in my foster home - even the big dogs! Im good with other dogs and even with cats. Im pretty submissive but Im also not afraid to initiate interactions. My foster mom thinks Id do best in a quieter home that isnt too chaotic. Id be fine as an only dog, or with another friendly dog or two who like to play and cuddle. Im a healthy girl spayed and vaccinated. I tested positive for Lyme Disease, but I dont show any symptoms and my blood work looks good, so the vets say no treatment is needed. Im still a bit underweight from my time as a stray, and Im not super food motivated, but with consistent good nutrition, Ill have a gleaming coat in no time. If you live in the Midwest and want to be my forever family, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved adopter with SIRA. The application process will help SIRA make sure well be a good match. Once approved, theyll introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet!
