Nora arrived at the shelter in rough shape with a broken pelvis and road rash. She spent her first several weeks here recovering in our Q Room where our medical team made sure she got the extra care, rest and attention she needed. Thanks to them, she healed beautifully and is now healthy! Nora has blossomed in her foster home, and every week she shows a little more of the bright, goofy, active, loving dog she truly is. She arrived as a whirlwind of energy, unsure of routines and overwhelmed by new experiences, but with patience, structure, and a whole lot of love, Nora has begun to shine. Over the last few weeks, Nora has learned so much (she is a very smart girl!). She’s practicing her recall, improving her potty schedule, and working on her crate routine. She LOVES squeaky toys, a morning play/run, and feather pillows, but she is more than happy to share with humans! She has met some children and other dogs. She did well with the children – probably will do better with slightly older children. For her fur brethren she does better with higher energy pups who just want to play! Her foster likes to joke that the only lessons left are teaching her she’s not a sled dog and to calm down in the car... but honestly, with how excited she gets to explore the world, we can see why she gets so excited. This silly girl has recently expanded her social calendar. She proudly took on the role of “nosey neighbor” at her foster’s before settling into a chair to listen to some piano practice; apparently she’s a fan of live music. She also joined a book club meeting where she fit right in as “one of the girls,” happily lounging and socializing. She had doggy friends come for a visit and enjoyed playtime, but settled down for a nap once it was all said and done. Nora is CLEARLY a total socialite who loves hanging out! Nora is estimated to be around 4 years and weighs 35 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative. Ready to meet Nora?
