Nora's Story
The best part of my story is still waiting to be written. I'm Nora, a 10 year old Rat Terrier and Australian Cattle Dog mix weighing in at a petite 33 pounds. These days, I'm looking for a soft place to land and a family to spend my golden years with. Life hasn't always been easy for me. I was found in a small town outside Springfield, severely underweight and barely hanging on. Thanks to some kind humans, I got a second chance, and I've never forgotten it. Because of that, I love my people with my whole heart and am happiest when I'm right beside them. I'm a laid-back gal who enjoys wandering around the house, keeping an eye on my favorite humans, and finding the coziest spot nearby for a nap. Don't let my age fool you, thoughI still get the zoomies when my people come home and when I'm outside enjoying the fresh air. One of my absolute favorite things in the world is rolling around in the grass. Pure happiness! I get along wonderfully with dogs, cats, older children, and even livestock. I'm not much interested in toys, but if you're looking for a loyal companion who just wants to be near you, I'm your girl.

As an older lady, I do have a few quirks. My hearing isn't what it used to be, so you'll need to speak up, whistle, or clap to get my attention sometimes. I have some age-related joint issues and a little weakness in my back legs, but my medications, joint supplements, omega-3s, and Carprofen help me feel much better. I may be a little unsteady now and then, but I still enjoy exploring and being part of the action. I also have a hard time holding my bladder for long periods, so I sometimes have accidents in the house or my crate. The good news? I wear washable diapers like a total professional. Poop accidents are very rare. Since I'm missing some teeth, I do best with wet food, which I happily gobble up.

What I lack in perfect health, I make up for in love, gratitude, and devotion. After everything I've been through, I don't need much, just a patient family, a comfy bed, and someone to love. In return, I'll give you my whole heart for however many years I have left.

As a senior my adoption fee is $75 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip! If you're interested in meeting/adopting me, please visit www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/ and fill out the form! We do adopt out of state with vet references and video home check. *Adopter is responsible for coming to get the dog and returning the dog if the adoption does not work out*

Don't forget to LIKE us on Facebook!-www.facebook.com/rescueonespringfield

*Remember, dogs are pack animals.
