“Ask not what your dog can do for you…”. Noni is not a dog that will bring you her favorite toy or wag her tail like crazy when you pet her, she is just not overly demonstrative as a rule BUT, when she cuddles up to you and sighs contentedly, or gives you a lick on the nose, your heart will swell with love for her. Noni landed in a shelter after she was abandoned in traffic at the age of 12 yrs, blind and hard of hearing, neglected and too weak to even stand. Noni hasn’t looked back since leaving the shelter. She eats like a little horse, is strong and walking again. She is in very good health overall, mobile (with some limitations) and alert. Noni is a sweet little lady who really loves to cuddle up to her people, she will sleep snuggled under your chin all night and enjoys napping in her bed with a friendly cat. She loves to have a good supervised snoop outdoors for her exercise (as well as regular visits outdoors for her pees and/or a poops). If she’s in wandering around mode indoors or you have to be away from the house for a few hours, just pop a diaper on in order to avoid accidents. She has great difficulty walking on slippery floors as her feet slide out from under her. Noni requires daily brushing – which she adores - and regular visits to a gentle groomer so that her coat does not become overgrown. She has daily eye medications, and arthritis medication as needed. Noni enjoys car rides and would be happy to accompany you everywhere and, at only 14 lbs that’s easy. If you would like to open your heart and home to a deserving and very special, sweet, senior lady, have a safe and level outdoor area (Noni can’t do stairs), and no-slip flooring or plenty of area rugs placed close together, look no further. Noni is very well suited to a home with cats but she tends to be very assertive with other dogs so they have to be extremely tolerant of her bossy antics in order to be a good fit. Gentle, mature older kids in the home would be fine. Her best fit adopters must have experience with senior dogs who require extra attention.
