Noni Adoption Pending's Story

*PUPDATE: Noni left May 28th for a Slumber Party!
Noni was transferred from an overcrowded facility that ran out of room for her. She is an approximately 2-year-old spayed female mixed breed weighing around 45 lbs. Noni is believed to have some German Shepherd in her mix, as well as at least one or two other breeds, maybe more. We are told that Noni gets along great with everyone adults, kids, dogs, cats, even bunnies! Shes sure to be a real pot o gold for some lucky family!

*Update: Noni has shown fear-based reactivity toward individuals using canes or similar mobility aids, possibly due to past mistreatment, so a home without frequent exposure to those may be the best fit. Training to overcome this trigger should help, and with time & patience she will become a perfect lifelong companion. Noni is already house trained and knows basic commands, and is ready to make a fresh start on her new life!
*Approved applicants are welcome to participate in our popular Slumber Party program and take a dog home for up to 2 weeks to make sure he/she is a great fit.
If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application at www.caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again when you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email us at adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopters must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.
*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide. If they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone, so advise your references that there may be an unknown or private number calling them. Thank you!
