Nola

Nola is ready for her forever family. She is healthy and happy. She is just one year old and she was very sick when she came to us. It took some time and some medication but she is doing great. She will continue with fish oil, allergy medication (otc)and thyroid medication probably lifetime. I just add them to her food and she takes them fine. She has a recessed vulva and has had one uti with us. This is something that will need monitoring. If she continues to have frequent uti’s she could need a vulvoplasty. She has learned sit, lie down, roll over, off, stay, leave it, bring it. No is definitely a work in progress. Some others are still a work in progress. She is crate trained. We have left her out in the family room for short periods of time when I have to run errands and she snoozes on the couch. I usually crate her and she does well with it. She will sometimes take naps in her crate. I do have a camera that I can watch her through. She is a Bulldog and very stubborn. We are working on not jumping on people when they come to the house. It’s only people she doesn’t see often. She gets excited. She is very food motivated and loves her “cookies”. She takes a cookie very gently. I have the littles tell her “easy” when they give her cookies just to make sure she does. The 3yo loves having her lie down and roll over and gives her cookies. She weighs 50 lbs and should stay there. She walks well on a leash. She is potty trained. She barks at you when she needs to go out. Has not had an accident in the house for quite awhile now. I do have an incontinent pad down in the bedroom just in case and she has used it in the past. I put it down where she would have her accidents. She is good with any care I need to perform, like cleaning the small wrinkles on her face or her ears. I also clean around her vulva every so often to keep it as clean as possible. She is very good with the littles. I have grandkids ages 3, 4, 6 and 9. She doesn’t jump on them and sees them frequently. She has lots of energy, more than most of the Bulldogs I have known. She is extremely fast and will do zoomies outside. She likes her toys. She loves her yak chews. She has a rooster soccer ball that she absolutely loves. Her endurance is more than my usual experience with bulldogs.
