NOELLE's Story

**APPLY ONLINE AT MUTTSDOGRESCUE.CA**

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and what better way to celebrate than by introducing Noelle! Noelle is a seven-year-old cocker spaniel x who came to MUTTS as a former mill mama. As is common with our mill rescues, little information was available about her past, but she was quick to tell us that she loves being outside and that fall is probably her favourite season! Noelle has heard that there’s no place like home for the holidays and she’s ready to meet her family!

When it comes to life after the mill, the decompression period is different for each pup. Luckily for Noelle, she’s adapted very well to her new life and her personality is already on full display! She enjoys following her foster around and exploring at every opportunity. She’s been described as a little ninja: sneaky and quick, often getting into things she shouldn’t … especially where food is concerned! Noelle’s curiosity often tries to get the better of her, so keeping any temptations out of reach should ensure she remains on her best behaviour!

Noelle is currently living in a condo, which is a great environment for her. She still loves her outdoor time, so access to a nearby park or garden or walking trail would make her a very happy lady. Noelle goes on three walks per day, averaging 20-30 minutes each. She’s working on her leash skills – it’s highly likely that she’s new to the leash, so her adoptive family should be prepared to continue with training.

Noelle is looking for a family who a) has an interest in cuddling, b) has a jar of dog treats at the ready, and c) understands the importance of regular grooming! Noelle can’t keep those beautiful golden locks looking perfect on her own, so her adopter must be committed to regular grooming and ear cleaning, as cocker spaniels are prone to ear infections. Noelle would likely be fine in a home with other dogs, especially since she came from a mill, but we’d recommend taking time with introductions as Noelle has been a bit jealous when her foster interacted with other dogs.

Noelle is almost potty trained. She’s had a few accidents inside, as well as in her crate, but frequent bathroom breaks are helping her get the hang of it! She’s not super fond of her crate but with a little encouragement, she eventually goes in and settles. Noelle is microchipped, spayed and up to date with her vaccines. During her spay surgery, she also had two teeth extracted. Noelle has also been instructed to drop a few pounds and is on a special diet.

Let’s help Noelle fulfill her Christmas wish to find the perfect family!

SOCIABILITY: Humans (adults; not yet kid tested) and dogs; not cat tested
ENERGY: Medium-high
QUIRKS: She sports a very stylish mohawk!
TRAINING NEEDS: Continued basic obedience, leash skills, continued socialization, continued potty training and crate training
WEIGHT: 37 lbs
MEDICAL NEEDS: None
FOSTER LOCATION: Toronto
