NKA ADA (Ziggy)'s Story

Ziggy is a lovable and loving 4-5 yrs old, approximately 50-pound Hound mix. She may have applications in progress but is currently available.

Ziggy was originally adopted in 2022 after being rescued from a neglect situation. She was recently returned due to some medical needs that her new owners did not feel they could manage. She came back to Stop the Suffering and got surgery for her Cranial Cruciate Ligament (kind of like an ACL for humans) and is recovering well and is certainly not letting that stop her from enjoying life. Ziggy loves all people - so much that she can sometimes get overly excited when meeting new people - but she listens to commands well. However, because of this and her size, she would be best in a home with older children. She's great with dogs of all sizes and play styles - she will adjust her style accordingly. She has been to doggy daycare and loved it. She would love to have a fenced in backyard, but it's not required. As much as she loves everyone and all dogs, she should not be in a home with cats as she has a high prey drive and will chase them. Other than that, this girl is always up for an adventure, will nudge you with her nose if she wants pets and loves a good roll in the grass before finding herself the perfect spot for sunbathing. Apply today to meet this wonderful girl.

Adoption fee is $375 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only.

STS is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. We do not have a physical location or set hours for you to meet dogs, and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in foster homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is completed you will be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs. We encourage interested individuals to get approved prior to searching as it helps expedite the process. A Petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application.
