He has been working on this with his foster, and has been making progress! His adopter will be offered a free spot in our virtual leash reactivity training class!
Dog social: He is generally pretty selective with is dog pals, but lives successfully with a calm and respectful resident dog in his foster home
Cat social: Unknown, but he has shown prey drive toward small critters on walks
Kid friendly: He would do best in an adults-only home, due to resource guarding behaviors and some body sensitivity

Niven likes:
- Napping with (or ideally, on) his person
- Going for walks in quiet areas
- Playing tug or fetch

Niven is a big gift in a small package who loves to run, play, and snuggle (on his own terms!). He certainly thinks he's the only dog in the world and expects to be treated as such. If you like to be greeted at the door with 4 foot leaps of excitement, this is your guy! Niven is SO sweet and loves his humans so hard, and the spot he most wants to be is curled up on your lap with blankets. He is also one of the funniest dogs you'll ever met. He loves hiding places and is a blanket extraordinaire who will also curl up in laundry baskets. He thrives with structure and a routine, and will do best with someone who can provide him with a calm, and consistent environment. Niven is very sensitive to outside noises (i.e. doors slamming, loud voices in hallways, etc.) and will need to live in a single family home in a quiet neighborhood.

Niven has been taking behavior support medication to aid in his training goals.

Niven's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous supporter, and he is ready to love on his forever person!

Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/

*** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program. Once the app is submitted you will receive an email within 48-72 hours. For additional questions, email adopt@onetail.org ***
