NITA's Story

Nita is a sweet, beautiful girl who is full of potential to shine in the right home. She can be nervous at first in new situations and with new people, but is blossoming with a calm person to encourage and teach her that the world is a safe and fun place to be. She is housebroken, crate trained, knows sit and paw (shake), enjoys running around the yard and playing with her four canine foster brothers, and indulging in her greatest love - fetching tennis balls. The two gentle, respectful older kids in her foster home are big fans of this cute girl and like to throw the ball for her, lovingly calling her Nita Bonita. She is the kind of dog who loves her people with all her heart and has been waiting a long time to know what it is like to be part of a family. Nita would benefit from outings to experience new places (she loves carrides and is great in the car) and fun training practice to build her confidence and help her bond with her new family, as well as regular activities to get her energy out before cuddling on the couch, napping on the floor or enjoying a chew toy. Nita enjoys long walks in the cooler morning hours, and has loved the little bit of jogging and hiking that she has gotten to try in her new foster home, as well. She is eager to learn and loves verbal praise and petting, as well as the occasional piece of cheese, for motivation. Nita needs regular brushing and protection from extended time out in the heat due to her thick, luxurious coat. Luckily she enjoys being brushed and loves a good fan and the great invention that is air conditioning! She is currently a little overweight, but ideally should be in the 40-45lb range. Nita is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up-to-date on her vaccinations and heartworm preventative. She is eagerly waiting to meet her forever family, so if you might be the person to help Nita reach her potential and gain an amazingly fun, loving, gorgeous, grateful and loyal friend in the process, please click on I'm Interested! to get in touch with her foster mom.
