Niko

Niko is located in Southern California.<br/><br/>Niko is a beautiful young fella (estimated to be about 1.5 yrs) who came to us with a broken leg. <br/>We don't know his story before that time, nor do we really know how old his break was before we got him, we do know that they had to rebreak the leg to try to repair it properly when we took him to the Orthopedic surgeon. <br/>It's our belief that perhaps Niko had a couple of homes before we got him. This, along with his broken leg has given Niko separation anxiety, though he is showing a tiny bit of improvement, a long road lies ahead for him to overcome some of this. <br/> Niko has been given the go ahead for light walking and physical therapy which includes swimming with his foster Mom and now he is ready to start looking for his forever home!<br/><br/>Here are requirements for Niko's new home.<br/>Having another Italian Greyhound in the home, this we believe will help with his separation anxiety in time.<br/>His person works from home or retired, he won't tolerate being home alone for long hours.<br/>Niko loves going for walks, but he is a bit reactive going for walks when he sees other dogs or even people, so a home must be dedicated to working with him to move past some of these issues.<br/>Niko's broken leg did not heal completely straight, however it is strong, so a home that is looking for a dog to go running/jogging with them will not work, but we do hope he gets to go for long walks and some hiking, he is young and very playful.<br/>Lastly, no children under the age of 12.<br/><br/>If you are interested in Niko we encourage you to apply to adopt Niko, our process is an application, interview and home visit.
