Nikita's Story

Meet Nikita — A Smart, Loving Girl Looking for Her Forever Home!
Nikita is blossoming beautifully in her foster home!
She’s bright, sweet, and eager to grow with a family of her own.

Personality
Nikita is a loving, affectionate, and submissive girl who wants nothing more than to bond with her people. She’s incredibly smart and learns routines quickly. She has already mastered:
• Sit and stay with good self-control
• “Leave it” and “Back off”
• Waiting for humans to go through doors first
• She does not resource guard and handles hands in her dish without issue

Nikita gets along very well with the resident dog in her foster home; they have never fought, and she shows no dog reactivity on walks. She’s also losing weight with healthy routines such as regular walks.

What Nikita Is Working On
Nikita is thriving, but she will need an adopter who can continue the great progress she’s made:
1. Stranger Fear: She can be wary of new people but has already made encouraging progress. Managed introductions will help her continue to build confidence.
2. Separation Anxiety: Nikita feels most secure when she’s with a person or another dog. When left completely alone, she may become anxious and can be destructive. She does wonderfully with another dog present, so a canine companion would be a great fit for her.

She also has a bit of a “bossy big sister” streak—if allowed, she may try to bully more timid dogs. Clear boundaries help her stay polite and respectful.
When she’s anxious, she may pant or drool, but she settles well with support, structure, and company.

Ideal Home
Nikita would thrive in a home that offers:
• Another confident dog to keep her company
• Humans who are home often and can continue working on her separation anxiety
• A patient, consistent environment to help her grow socially

She is not allowed on furniture in foster and respects those boundaries well.

Why You’ll Love Nikita
Nikita is a wonderful mix of affectionate, teachable, and loyal. She’s already come so far, and with the right home, she’s going to flourish into an extraordinary companion. If you’re looking for a dog who is eager to bond and ready to bloom with you, Nikita may be your perfect match.

If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 11-5pm.
---
The Pennsylvania SPCA - Main Line Animal Rescue
1149 Pike Springs Rd
Chester Springs, PA 19425
Kennel #2857
610-933-0606
info@mlar.org
