Nigel's Story

Meet Nigel — Handsome, Happy & One Big Ball of Goof!

Some dogs are handsome. Some are happy. Some are naturally social and think everyone they meet is their new best friend.

And then there’s Nigel, who apparently decided, “Why choose just one?” I'm both!

This handsome boy has the looks of a Shepherd, the personality of a Lab and the general operating system of a lovable goofball. His foster dad absolutely adores Nigel's silly, affectionate personality and lovingly describes him as “a ball of goof.”

Nigel is happy, outgoing, affectionate and wonderfully social. Humans? Friends. Dogs? Friends. New people? Friends he just hasn't met yet!

He currently lives with two large dogs—one male and one female—and does great with both. Nigel loves having canine companions and is very comfortable being part of a household with other dogs. He could also be fine as a solo pup too.

And while Nigel may have a playful streak, he's not all goof and no manners. This guy has been working hard on his grown-up skills and has already built a fantastic foundation for family life. He's house trained, crate trained and doing wonderfully on leash. And here's the impressive part: he had never even been walked on a leash until he was about five months old! Yet Nigel took to it like, well... like Nigel does everything else—with enthusiasm and a cheerful attitude.

He's smart, eager to please and responds beautifully to praise and encouragement. Give him a little guidance and he is more than happy to show you what a good boy he can be.

At the end of the day, though, what really makes Nigel special isn't just his handsome Shepherd-ish good looks or his growing list of accomplishments. It's that big, goofy, loving personality. He genuinely enjoys people, enjoys dogs and seems to have decided that life is pretty darn fun.

So if you're looking for a dog who can be your walking buddy , canine playmate , professional greeter and resident goofball , Nigel would like to submit his application. He is 6 to 8 months old and weighs 53 lbs.

If you would like to adopt, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/ Adoption Fee: $250 — includes neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming and microchip.
