Nico (FL)'s Story

Nico has already survived more than most dogs ever should. He was found weaving in and out of highway traffic before eventually making his way to a shelter, where he spent nearly a year waiting for someone to give him a chance. Today, hes thriving in foster care and is ready to find the family hes been waiting for.

At just under two years old, Nico is everything youd expect from a young dog—energetic, curious, playful, and always ready to see whats around the next corner. He loves going for walks and has become a fantastic leash companion. Every day is an adventure, and hes happiest when he gets to experience it with his people.

When the adventures are over, Nico is just as happy to curl up for cuddles. He loves being around his family and has a sweet, affectionate side that quickly wins people over.

Nico gets along great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. Cats? They actually seem to intimidate him a bit, so he usually gives them plenty of space.

Like any young dog, Nico is still learning. Hes house trained, sleeps quietly in his crate at night (mostly to keep him from finding late-night projects), and hes working on mastering sit. Hes also an enthusiastic chewer, so keeping plenty of toys around makes everyone happy.

One of Nicos funniest habits is collecting his treasures. He proudly carries his food and water bowls around the house and carefully stashes them in his dog bed alongside his favorite toys. Its his little collection, and he seems very proud of it.

Because Nico gets so excited when meeting people, hed probably do best with a family that doesnt have very small children. He doesnt have a mean bone in his body—he just hasnt quite realized how big and enthusiastic he can be.

Nico has waited long enough. Hes looking for an active family that will continue showing him the world, laugh at his goofy habits, and give him the love and stability every dog deserves. Nico is being fostered near Palm Bay.

If youre looking for a loyal adventure buddy, a cuddle partner, and a dog whose personality gets bigger every day, Nico might just be your perfect match.
