Nico's Story
If you saw Nico today, you'd never guess that just a few months ago, this sweet boy was living a very rough life.

At only 8 months old, Nico has already experienced more heartbreak than any puppy should. He spent the beginning of his life as an unwanted stray, unsure where his next meal would come from or if anyone would ever care for him. Then, as if that wasn't enough, he found himself sitting in an overcrowded shelter, placed on the euthanasia list simply because there wasn't enough space.

Nico got a second chance, and now all he needs is someone willing to give him the forever home he has always deserved.

Nico may not be the tiny puppy everyone scrolls past looking for, but he is still very much a baby. He still melts into your lap for cuddles. He still gets the zoomies in the yard and carries his favorite toys around with pride. He still wags his tail when by his favorite humans.

Nico wants a family to call his own. A couch to curl up on. A yard to run through. Someone to tell him that the hard part of his life is finally over. Could that be you?

Our adoption process is usually quick but may take up to two weeks. When you find an animal you are interested in, we ask that you fill out an application on our website, PawsUp4Rescue.org/adopting as a first step so we can determine if your family is a good fit for the animal. If you are, then we will contact you to arrange a time for you and your family to meet the animal so you can decide if it is a good fit. If you currently have dogs, we require them to be present at the meeting to ensure it's a good fit all around. Once compatibility is determined, we move on to the paperwork and finalize the adoption.

If the meet is not a good fit, we will keep your application on file for 6 months and will gladly consider your family for another dog.

Follow us on FACEBOOK: www.Facebook.com/PawsUp4RescueJoliet/
on INSTAGRAM: www.Instagram.com/PawsUp4RescueJoliet/
