He’s a 3 month old Shih Tzu mix, who weighs all of 4 lbs, adorable, right? We’re guessing he could be 15-25lbs when full grown, but that’s is not a guarantee because he was surrendered with hardly any info.<br/><br/>Nicholas loves to play with the fur siblings in his foster home, but he is quite content to just hang low and maybe sit on your lap to take a snooze 😴. He’s full of himself, loves to go outside and “explore” all the neat things out there, and won’t hesitate to pick up just about anything and put it in that tiny mouth of his! <br/><br/>Soooo typical of puppy behavior, so his new family will have to supervise outside time so he doesn’t get into any mischief. He does love puppy appropriate chew toys, and don’t forget you’ll need to “puppy proof” your home for his safety or you might just find those brand new shoes in pieces if he’s not watched carefully! Also, since he is so young, you’ll need to work with him on potty training, as his little bladder can’t hold it for more than a few hours.<br/><br/>Puppies require ALOT of time, patience and training, so you must be dedicated and have the time for that so that he grows up to be the bestest boy ever! Preference will be given to a work from home family or one who’s only gone a few hours a day. His new family should be agile and very alert since he’s so small he can get underfoot easily, and if there are kids in the home, we recommend they be 10+ due to his tiny size.<br/><br/>Nicholas has been neutered, is current on his age appropriate vaccines, microchipped and started on his heartworm and flea prevention. Please note, he will require regular grooming which can run anywhere form $60.00-$120.00 per visit, so keep that in mind with your budget too!<br/><br/>Think this little doll baby might be the guy for you? To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 15-18 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pets estimated lifespan. <br/><br/>All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application.
