Nia's Story

Nia is about 8 months old and 25 pounds, and if you ask her, there is absolutely nothing different about her!

Nia was born in the mountains of Puerto Rico along with her five siblings. Sadly, when she was very young, she became tangled in something and was trapped for quite some time. The damage was severe enough that she lost part of one of her back legs.

Someone apparently forgot to tell Nia that this was supposed to slow her down.

This girl is active, happy, affectionate and LOVES playing with other dogs. She runs, plays, wrestles and keeps up with her friends just fine. Her leg doesn’t limit her one bit, and Nia certainly doesn’t waste any time worrying about it!

She’s still very much a puppy — curious, playful, loving and always ready for some fun. She adores other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine buddy to play with.

Nia had a pretty rough start for such a young girl, but you’d never know it by meeting her. She’s too busy enjoying herself and making up for lost time.

Three and a half legs, four legs... Nia could not care less! She has places to go and dogs to play with! She will be here in NY at the end of October and we would love to have a family waiting for her!

Please note: All dogs are rescues so we often do not know the actual breeds but use an educated guess to tell you what they most look like.

Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, 4DX tested (if age appropriate), put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico.

For more information on adopting, please email madrescueofwny@aol.com and fill out our online application at https://form.jotform.us/70927213338153
