Newt 's Story

ID 60032587

Meet Newt! This catchy little name matches this spunky young dog who is on the smaller side but has a bigger personality overall. Newt found himself stuck at the shelter, and has been patiently waiting for his turn to make it on the adoptable board and his wish has come true.

Newt has an enthusiastic side to him, and had to work on some (let’s just be honest here) “humpy” behavior. He has some energy and focus and often, young dogs do not know what to do, or how to use properly especially when stuck in a shelter kennel for many hours a day. This guy loves toys, and the will happily toss them around, play some tug, and will need some stronger toys that he can really sink his teeth into. He has some puppy fun behavior still and needs to be reminded he can’t jump up for a toy, or a treat but needs to show off his sit to get either of them as a reward. He is quite cuddly, and enjoys some good pets of praise, or, just to make him feel happy and loved.

Newt walks good on lead, but brushing up on skills is never a bad idea, especially when he bonds with his new human best friend as they become a team.

He has met some shelter dogs but does have that exuberance so a meet /greet is needed with any resident dog in a home. Dogs often need certain playmates/housemates , just like people, to make a coexistence click.

If you can give this guy some fun time, training, guidance and a comfy bed to crash in, come on down and meet him.
