Nettle's Story

Nettle - GSD - Female - 3 yrs - www.twyla.org

If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org

Meet Nettle: This GORGEOUS young spayed female German Shepherd girl is a very typical GSD. She is very sweet, loves attention and affection, is eager to please. Destroys soft toys, does not understand fetch just yet. Plays well with male dogs, can get snippy with female dogs that are testy with her. Has shown little interest in cats, but has also had limited exposure in her current foster home.

Nettle is a very typical Shepherd: active, attentive to her people, food/treat motivated, wants to learn and please, does have her own opinion and will attempt to push boundaries a bit ("Did you mean it when you said to get off the sofa?") but corrects very nicely. Nettle is very receptive to training and calm and direct instructions, but will take advantage if she perceives her handler as softer or inconsistent, so prior dog experience with large and smart dogs is preferred. She walks nice on leash, but will show reaction to other dogs, until her handler tells her not to, compliance is pretty quick.

She has had limited opportunity to interact with kids, as she likes (and is still learning not to) jump on people, older kids are likely a better match for her.

Nettle is looking for a moderately active home where she can get attention and exercise, a few walks, some training to stimulate her mind and a family that will include her in daily life.

***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
