Neptune's Story

Meet Neptune

At 3 years old and 55 lbs, Neptune is a neutered, brindle and white pitbull terrier mix who is all heart, soul, and loyalty. He’s that perfect mix of affectionate best friend and playful sidekick—the dog who reads the room, checks in on you, and then happily flops down nearby just to be close.

Neptune bonds deeply with his people and brings a calm, loving presence that makes everyday moments feel better. He’s currently living peacefully with and charming his two 8-year old female canine housemates (a pitbull terrier mix and a lab/whippet mix), showing just how well he can share space and companionship.

Out on walks, Neptune is still learning his manners and would benefit from continued training and confident guidance when meeting new dogs—he’s eager to learn and wants to do right by his person. With a little structure and patience, he’ll shine.

His “Top Tier” Traits:

The Morning Greeting: He won’t bark you awake. Instead, he’ll give you a gentle, polite nudge at the bedside to let you know he’s ready for the day.

The Song of His People: While his dinner is being prepped, he lets out a tiny, sweet whimper – just a little “thank you in advance” for the chef.

The Perfect Roommate: He’s mastered the balance of energy and chill.

Neptune is the ultimate companion for someone who wants a dog that’s both an adventurer and a homebody. If you’re looking for a loyal, emotionally tuned-in dog with “forever friend” energy and a heart as big as his name, Neptune is ready to follow you anywhere.

No cats please! Neptune has a very high prey drive!

Potential adopters are interviewed to ensure a good home will be provided for the dog. Veterinarians and references are contacted and home checks (typically virtually) are performed. We require homes to provide proper vet care and meet all of the needs of the dog. In addition, we make sure the dog is the right fit for the adopter as sometimes the dog they want may not be the right fit for their home and family.
