This charming Rescue dog is a mix of poodle, shih tzu, maltese and other breeds. He weighs about 15lbs, he's neutered and vaccinated. Nelson was found as a stray in California, is about 4 years old and has 2 healed fractures in his front left leg. His injuries have not slowed him down! He also has a condition called dry eye which may require ointment in his left eye for the rest of his days. He tolerates the medication application well.<br/><br/>Nelson is shy and defensive when meeting new people, often barking at first. He needs an adopter who will be patient with him and has the time to help him feel secure in his new environment. Once comfortable, he's very sweet and affectionate. He'd do best in a slower paced home, with someone at home most of the time. Nelson loves tennis balls and needs a securely fenced yard to play in. His breed mixture requires regular grooming and he gets along with dogs similar in size.
