Nelly

Nelly is our 4.5 yr old in tact female, (we will help get her spayed). She is an American pit bull terrier likely mixed with black Labrador.<br/><br/>Nelly is friendly with people and very affectionate. She is good with other dogs and plays with her furbrother, Zane (also available for adoption), when she feels like it. She prefers to be with her people, curious to be a part of what they are doing. She does ok on a leash, very smart, and learns quickly. <br/><br/>Nelly would really thrive with a family that can provide a bit of consisten training (for leash walks and jumping when excited) and simply focus on her as a family member. <br/><br/>She is happy to be a couch potato inside but loves nice sunny days, like most pitbull terriers that dont care for winter or rain, enjoying walks and car rides <br/><br/>Nelly loves watermelon and popcorn. She has shown normal behaviors while in heat, not wanting to rough house or have dogs near her food. She will either be spayed prior to adoption or we will help her new family get get her spayed at a very discounted rate if she can come to Middlebury for it. <br/><br/>This is a rehoming situation, our standard adoption fee does not apply. We are working with the family to assist in finding the best forever home for Nelly and her fur brother Zane. We want to prevent her being shuffled around and would like any potential adopters to plan on at least a 2nd or 3rd meeting to take her home. Our rescue never let's dogs leave at the first meeting, this way everyone has time to make sure it's the right fit and the dog isn't having to leave with a complete stranger.
