Negan

Back Story: Negan showed up on someone's property in Whitney, Texas. No owner came forward to claim him. <br/><br/>Negan is a fun little dog with a big personality. He appears to be a Dachshund mix. We do not have a DNA test done for Negan, this would be our best guess. The veterinarian best guesses Negan to not exceed 20#, we would agree based on his growth rate so far. He displays many characteristics of a Dachshund, such as, his love to dig and explore. We encourage everyone to research breeds and familiarize yourself with breed characteristics prior to applying for adoption.<br/><br/>Negan is very friendly with everyone he meets; he has never met a stranger. When approaching people he is excited and easy to handle. He currently lives with a toddler that he is loving & gentle with. Negan is very playful and does love toys. We keep a close eye on him though because he will tear apart some stuffies and sometimes steal kids' toys to chew on. Negan, can hold his own with the big dogs when playing. Negan does well with all dogs and left the cat alone disinterested, when cat testing. He does like to chase after birds & bunnies when outside. When going to the vet, Negan was friendly and curious. He was great overall but he does not like being pricked with the needle (vaccines, blood draw). He lets a cry and will try to wiggle away. With positive encouragement he settles down and recovers quickly. <br/><br/>Negan will use a potty pad, if he must go while inside. However, on a potty schedule he is now two weeks accident free when roaming the house. He is kennel trained and alerts if he needs to go out while kenneled. Negan sometimes barks when his foster is not home, and he will bark to alert at things approaching the home or yard.
