Neeko Is Ready for His Next Chapter<br/><br/>Meet Neeko, an adorable 18-month-old German Shepherd who is looking for a family to help him start the next chapter of his life. Neeko's owner sadly passed away, and while we search for the perfect home, a family friend stepped up to foster him. It's easy to see why—this young guy is friendly, affectionate, playful, and eager to please.<br/><br/>Neeko has an impressive résumé. He's been through obedience training and even knows some commands in German! He's kennel trained, housebroken, and has very good house manners even when he's playing with his favorite toys. Though he doesn't live with another dog, he enjoys playing with the neighbor's dog, so we think he could share his space with a canine companion. <br/><br/>He has also been wonderful with the two young children in his foster home. His previous owner enjoyed roughhousing with him, so Neeko occasionally forgets that young children aren't his wrestling buddies—but he is learning! When he gets a little too enthusiastic, he responds well to correction and gets right back on track. Neeko does fine on car rides, but prefers shorter trips over longer ones.<br/><br/>Neeko is definitely a high-energy youngster and has discovered that fences are more of a suggestion than a rule. His new family will need a secure setup and an appropriate outlet for all that youthful German Shepherd energy. He's also prepared to chase a bunny rabbit if given the opportunity.<br/><br/>Neeko has already experienced a heartbreaking loss at a very young age. Now he needs a fresh start with a family that will give him the guidance, exercise, and love he deserves.
