Ned's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi... I’m Ned. Have you ever wanted a Golden Doodle, but smaller? I look just that!
Please read my bio thoroughly. Only available for adoption in Texas.

I’m a quiet, gentle guy with a really soft heart. I came here with a few of my companions through a transfer, and I’ll be honest—I’m still learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. It takes me a little time to trust new people.

At first, I might hang back and just watch. I need someone very patient who will let me go at my own pace and not rush me. I need someone who can understand it may take a long time for me to become comfortable around humans, as I have had a rough beginning to life. I will try to run away from you. But I am not aggressive, or have ever tried to bite.

With me being scared, I need you to understand that I will need patience with going outside. I will try to run away, so keep me on a harness until I learn coming back inside on my own is okay.

I do feel more confident around other dogs, so a home with another canine is a must. They can help show me that life isn't so bad. I am unsure how I do with cats. Older considerate kids only.

Due to my breed, I’ll also need regular grooming, but I’ve been very good for it here. I actually don't mind getting groomed. I find it very relaxing.

I am heartworm positive right now, but I’ve already started treatment. I’ve been on antibiotics and am going through the ProHeart 12 protocol approved by the American Heartworm Society. The good news is that with this treatment, I should test negative in about 8–10 months.

I’m neutered, up to date on all my vaccines and prevention, and microchipped, so I’m ready when the right person comes along.

My adoption fee is $350. If you think you might be my person, you can apply at www.adoggie4you.org.

Due to me being scared and nervous, I am not an option for out-of-state transport, and must remain in Texas.

A Doggie 4 You's Adoption Policy
All dogs and puppies are fully vetted prior to adoption (spay/neuter, rabies, 3 DHpp, Bordetella and heartworm test/treat if positive). Potential adopters fill out an application, if it passes, they adopt the animal at a fee Our adoption fees start at $200. Fees are based on the age, sex, breed and at times the vet bills associated with the dog. The adoption fee on highly adoptable dogs will be higher. Those fees help pay the vet services on less adoptable dogs that come in with high cost injuries or treatable illnesses. Our adoption fees also include sales tax. According to Texas law the fee is not a donation. All adopters must have spayed or neutered any current animals, provide vet information so shot history can be verified. Adopters who no longer want an animal are, required by the contract, to return the animal to A Doggie 4 You.
