Ned's Story

Ned is a 6-year-old Chihuahua mix who came to us as a transfer from the Humane Society of Yuma. When he first arrived, Ned was very scared and shut down, unsure of the world around him. With time, patience, and kindness, he’s begun to blossom—and what a sweet soul he is.

Now that he feels safer, Ned is showing off his gentle, affectionate personality. He may be a bit quiet, but he has the cutest way of asking for love: he’ll softly nudge his snout into your hand when he wants to be pet. It’s his subtle way of saying, "I trust you." Ned is the definition of a lap dog. He thrives on soft, gentle affection and would happily spend all day on his favorite persons lap.

Ned would thrive in a calm, quiet home with people who understand that love doesn’t have to be loud. He’s looking for a family who will give him the time and space to continue building confidence—and who will happily treat him like the king he truly is.

If you’re looking for a loyal, tender-hearted companion to share peaceful moments with, Ned might just be your perfect match.

Adopting a pet at Foothills Animal Rescue is a simple process, and we have a dedicated staff of Adoption Counselors to help you through the procedure. How to adopt at FAR: Currently under Covid 19 protocols You can view our pets online and make an appointment to meet them. Get to know our pets. Enjoy our meet and greet room where you can spend individual time to play, pet or just sit with them. Converse with our adoption counselors about our pets, our adoption process and what to expect during the first few days. Some of our pets may need a family or dog introduction before able to adopt based on specific observations made at the sheer environment. Once you've decided to adopt, our pets are able to go home usually that same day. They are already neutered/spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Enjoy your lifetime of unconditional love.
