What is City of Hernando Animal Shelter’s adoption process?

Thank you for considering adding one of our shelter pets to your family! Here is our process for adopting: CATS & KITTENS: Our adoption fee for cats is $50 which includes FIV/FeLV testing, spay or neuter, FVRCP & Rabies vaccinations, and de-worming. The link to the cat & kitten adoption application is: https://form.jotform.com/223123324475146 DOGS & PUPPIES: Our adoption fee for dogs is $75 which includes heartworm testing, Rabies vaccination, DHLLP vaccination, spay or neuter, and de-worming. The link to the dog & puppy adoption application is: https://form.jotform.com/223123324475146 Most of our pets are in foster care, so we require an adoption application prior to meeting the pet. Once your application is approved, we set up a meeting for you to meet the pet to ensure a good fit. Lastly, we help you introduce your existing pets to the potential new pet to ensure a smooth transition. To inquire about a specific pet or if you have other questions, please contact us at A@cityofhernando.org . We work very hard to return all emails within 48 hours.
