A black and brown German Shepherd who’s still catching my breath after everything all of the uncertainty I've been through.<br/><br/>I went in to the shelter as a stray. No history. No roadmap. Just me, trying to figure things out in a busy, loud place that didn’t feel like home.<br/><br/>So yeah, I can be a little shy at first.<br/><br/>I take a minute to look, to listen, to understand what’s happening around me. The kennel environment hasn’t been easy. Sometimes I bark or howl, but it’s not anger. It’s me asking for connection. I just want someone to notice me.<br/><br/>Here’s what matters.<br/><br/>I’m not aggressive. I’ve been around other dogs and done just fine. I’m more focused on people than anything else. Every day I’m getting more relaxed, more comfortable, more like myself.<br/><br/>I’ve got a smart Shepherd brain, and I know how to use it. I can climb, so I’ll need a secure setup and someone who understands I’m curious and capable. Give me structure and I’ll respect it.<br/><br/>What I really need is time.<br/><br/>Time to decompress. Time to feel safe. Time to realize I don’t have to keep my guard up anymore.<br/><br/>And when that happens, you’re going to see a different dog.<br/><br/>A loyal one.<br/>A steady one.<br/>A dog who stays close because he wants to, not because he has to.<br/><br/>If you’re patient, kind, and willing to let me settle in at my own pace, I’ll meet you there.<br/><br/>I’ve been through a lot. I’m ready for something better.
