Nana's Story
8/29/25:
When we received a plea for help about five German Shepherd mixed puppies, abandoned and neglected and left amongst a horde of other dogs, we knew we had to help. At that time they were emaciated, parasitized and between just 3-7 pounds and 8 weeks old. With improved care and a proper diet, medical attention and lots of TLC, they turned into well adjusted, healthy puppies.

As with many rescues, we have had a great decline in the number of foster homes that we have been able to find for our animals. This was the case with these puppies and we had to rely on boarding for their care rather than having them in foster homes where they could have received more training and one on one attention. Boarding is no place for puppies to grow up:(

Nana, Yodel and Maya are all in a temporary foster home at this time but each could really use a foster or foster to adopt home of their own. At eight months old, they are still babies and each are very social, friendly and well adjusted puppies. They have been acclimated to people and other dogs but could really use some individual training.

Nana is playful, social and likes to romp and play all the chances she gets. She is toy motivated and will even play fetch with herself if no one is providing this service for her. She has all the stunning looks of a German Shepherd but in a bit smaller of a package at just around 35#. Nana did very well at one of our recent events and was almost as excited to meet new people as they were to meet her!

All 3 pups need work on housebreaking and training, but with just a little time and attention, we think they will pick up training pretty quickly. They have waited so long for someone to come around and see how very special they are and they are trying to be the best puppies they can be. Due to their previous neglectful history, we believe they will be 40-60# full grown, so the perfect sized travel companions!

What are we looking for in a foster family? Not forever. Not fancy. Just a couch, some patience, and the ability to open your heart and your snack drawer to a four legged friend.

What comes along with fostering?
??A wet nose
??An excuse to leave gatherings/parties/sporting events early to get some puppy cuddles
??Endless puppy kisses (and occasional wet, slobbered on shoes)
??A foster pet that thinks you're the best thing since sliced bologna
??Foster cred for saving a life

If you can commit to loving them, teaching them then letting them go to a forever home (or adopting them yourself) , we sure could use you right now!

Whether you want a puppy, adult dog or senior, we likely have something you are looking for (or soon will get it!)

Due to their size, activity levels and age, foster to adopt requirements are:

•Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
•Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
•Being able to bring each back to our vets office in Adams if additional care is needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking her to your current vet to be established.
•Playful dogs in the home and cats should be ok, since they are just pups.
•Homes with children over 8 years old should be ok due to their current size and activity level
•Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match.
•Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet.

An adoption donation of $500 is being asked for each pup if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. They had their initial vet check, are current on vaccines, dewormings and prescription flea and tick medications and they have been spayed/neutered.

Please help us to continue helping those that knock on our doors!

To foster to adopt: https://form.jotform.com/Meowchatz/pet-adoption-application-form

To foster ONLY: https://form.jotform.com/Meowchatz/foster-application--acbs

5/9/25:
Foster to adopt homes needed!

Everyone welcome Nana and Yodel! These are two of our Snow Dog litter of pups that came in a few weeks ago. We gave then a little extra time to grow, and they are now ready to go to foster to adopt homes! We believe all the pups, our shepherd mixes of some sort and Nana is now 6# and Yodel 5.2# and 8 weeks old so they will likely be under 40# full grown.

Nana and Yodel are active pups that don't realize their current small size. Each are looking for a foster to adopt home to show them how to be the best pups they can be. We'd like to show them a true rags to riches story so they can go from throwaway, pups to treasured family members like they always should have been. Can you help us to make that happen?

4/28/25: Foster to adopt homes needed!

Everyone welcome 4 of our newest pups, the Snow Dogs Maya, Dutchess, Nana and Yodel! These pups, were part of a collection of dogs living outside of a family's home in Kentucky. With so many strays dropped off, they often will breed indiscriminately and it's all the family can do to just try and supply food for them, let alone have additional money for vet care. When a nearby rescue started removing dogs from the property, they reached out to us for help. Maya and duchess our both 7-8 pounds and about eight weeks old but nana, and yodel are just ~4# so we are giving them a little bit more time before they are ready to go. We believe all the pups, our shepherd mixes of some sort and duchess, and maya, at least will probably be 40-50# full sized but we aren't sure about Nana and Yodel yet.
Maya and Dutchess are active pups and each are looking for a foster to adopt home to show them how to be the best pups, they can be. Can you help us to make that happen?

!

---
Please fill out an adoption application with your inquiry if you would like a response back, within 72 hours for our dogs. We get multiple inquires each day with only an hour of "free time" to volunteer and answer them around our full-time jobs and family life...don't let your inquiry get passed by because of an incomplete application. Thanks in advance for your help!

Help our rescue by donating to our "Spay the momma fund". When adopting one of our babies, if each new family would contribute an extra $10 we can help out that babies mother by assisting with the cost of her spay. Help turn the momma into a pet rather than a breeding factory, donate today!

Adoptions limited to an 80 mile radius of Pulaski, NY and pets must be viewed in person by all family members prior to adoption; animals will not be shipped to their new homes. Veterinary reference check and adoption donation also required. Check out our homepage for a full list of our adoption requirements.
