IN NEED OF ADOPTION OR RESCUE: NALA Nala is a petite, 35-lb Pit Bull Terrier mix who was brought to the shelter as a stray on August 25, 2025. She’s very smart, gentle, and has a nice medium energy level, playful but not hyper. When she first arrived, she was unsure of her surroundings, but she’s opened up beautifully to both staff and volunteers.We were initially told she wasn’t a fan of men, but that has not been the case since she settled in. Nala has had no adoption interest and is still waiting for a home of her own. We recommend that any resident dogs come for a meet-and-greet, and believe a home with older children or adults may be the best fit. Because Nala has not yet been spayed, adopters must reside in Stafford County or a bordering jurisdiction. Her adoption fee is $45, and adoptions are first-come, first-served.
