Nala's Story

Nala (approximately 62 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas, where she quickly won people over-so much so that a volunteer dog walker fostered her while she waited for transport. When she arrived here, the love for her only grew. She enjoyed spending one on one time with staff members and volunteers. Soaking up all the love she could get. As time went on, we found out that Nala would lack confidence around other dogs. She showed this with big feelings such as staring and barking to get the other dog to move away. Noticing this, we put together a plan to help her learn to cope around other dogs. It is safe to say she is improving, but it's worth it to note that once adopted, her adopters will have to continue her training in the home. Nala said she would prefer slow introductions to potential canine siblings as well as not living with dogs that are over exuberant. A no cat home is also required. She is a very good girl and has so much potential. Could you be the home to give that to her? Visit our Adoption Center from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily (closed Wednesdays), or call (603) 772-2921 ext. 110 or email info@nhspca.org for more information.
