Nahlah's Story

Nahlah is pretty, Nahlah is petite, Nahlah is PERFECT. Nahlah has been in foster for a pretty long time while we've been working on getting her allergies managed, and during that time we've learned so much about her! She's friendly and social with dogs and people alike, and she loves to wrestle with her buds. Nahlah's already got her house manners down pat, and the hardest thing about walking her is that she will stop and wait for strangers to acknowledge how beautiful and special she is before getting going again.

Weight: 39.4 lbs

Spayed/Neutered: Yes!

Up to date on vaccines: Yes!

Microchipped: Yes!

Housebroken: Yes! They will potty outside every time or nearly every time (rarely has accidents).

Crate-trained: Yes! They will settle in the crate easily and are comfortable staying in it for 4+ hours.

Leash behavior: Good! They enjoy walks and are easy to handle while on leash.

Dog sociability: They like them! They enjoy the company of dog friends, but would be just as happy to be an only dog in the home.

Cat sociability: Unknown! They have never met a cat while in foster care.

Kid sociability: Unknown! They have never met children while in foster care.

Likes: Digging through her toy bin, falling asleep with a toy in her mouth, showing you her toys

Dislikes: Seeing a potential friend and not being able to say hi to them

Nahlah takes prescription medication and eats a prescription diet to help manage her allergies.
She is suspected to have allergic skin disease. Atopic dermatitis is caused by an allergy to something in the environment, like grass, trees or wool. It is similar to eczema and causes itching and predisposes the animal to skin and ear infections. Food allergy causes similar signs and is difficult to distinguish from atopic dermatitis without a strict prescription food trial. These conditions can be lifelong and will require follow up with a veterinarian in order to be managed long term.

If you'd like to meet Nahlah, please fill out an adoption application at animalcareleague.org/adoptions and send us an email at adoption@animalcareleague.org!
