Nacho's Story
Meet Nacho, a hearing impaired, one-year-old red (double) merle, Australian Shepherd with the biggest heart who is the happiest guy at your side.

Nacho is equal parts velcro, smart, and certified cuddle bug. This boy does not just like his people, he thrives with his people. He will happily curl up in your lap, lean into you on the couch, and follow you from room to room just to stay close. If you’re heading somewhere, he assumes he’s invited. He is an amazing adventure companion. He’s went on long runs, hikes, lake swims, and on daily errands. He excels at every one.

He is deaf and has limited vision in one eye, but that does not slow him down one bit. He sees well out of his other eye and navigates his world with confidence, from the indoors to the outdoors. He watches his people closely, learns routines quickly, and responds beautifully to visual cues. His connection to his humans is strong, and that bond is truly special.

Nacho loves all people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He enjoys having a canine companion, especially since he does best when he’s not alone. He walks nicely on leash around both people and dogs, rides beautifully in the car, and loves toys. He is always ready for an outing, but just as happy to settle in for snuggles afterward.

He does experience separation anxiety when kenneled. However, he does very well in any situation by your side.

Nacho would thrive in a home that wants a true companion. A dog who goes with you, lounges with you, and loves you wholeheartedly. With structure, consistency, and ideally a dog buddy, he will be an incredibly devoted, affectionate best friend.

Medical Information:
• Neutered
• Up to date on vaccinations
• Heartworm negative
• Fecal negative
• On heartworm & flea preventative

Adoption Fee: $600
This fee helps cover his medical care and allows us to continue rescuing herding dogs in need.

Interested in adopting Nacho?
Please contact BarkinDogsRescue@gmail.com or 913-416-0878 to learn more or begin the application process.

Rescued once. Loved forever. Always a Barkin Dog.
