Myles's Story

Myles: A Quiet Kind of Extraordinary

Meet Myles, a stunning almost-white Labrador Retriever with a heart as pure as his coat. At just 2 1/2 years old and 76 pounds, this handsome boy is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and ready to find the family he's been waiting for.

Some dogs steal the spotlight with endless energy. Myles captures your heart in a different way. His gentle spirit, calm confidence, and unwavering loyalty make him the kind of companion who simply makes life better. Whether he's quietly resting by your side after a long day or happily chewing on his favorite Benebone, Myles is content just being with his people.

This sweet boy is house-trained, crate-trained, and has impeccable manners around the home. He can be trusted with household items—even those left on the counter—and isn't interested in chewing anything that doesn't belong to him. He's comfortable with brushing, bathing, and ear cleaning, and he's making great progress learning that nail trims aren't so scary after all.

Myles already knows sit, wait, and crate, and he's eager to keep learning. Since he hasn't had much experience walking on a leash, he'll benefit from continued leash training and an obedience class to help him build confidence while strengthening the bond with his new family.

His favorite place is wherever his people are. Myles loves attention, is wonderful with children, and politely keeps all four paws on the floor when greeting them. He's beginning to discover the fun of toys and balls, but his real favorites are sturdy chew toys like Benebones and Nylabones. He rides beautifully in the car, takes treats with the gentlest mouth, rarely barks, and sleeps peacefully through the night in his crate.

Myles has an easygoing nature with other dogs and has shown himself to be a respectful companion. While he hasn't been tested with cats, he does think backyard birds and bunnies are exciting, so a securely fenced yard would give him a safe place to enjoy the outdoors. His reaction to thunderstorms is still unknown.

If you're searching for a Labrador with a gentle soul, excellent manners, and a heart full of devotion, Myles may be exactly the companion you've been hoping to find. He isn't looking for anything extravagant—just a family to love, a cozy spot nearby, and someone who will appreciate the quiet joy he brings every single day.
Myles is being fostered in a northwest suburb of Chicago.

*******
Adopting a Lab can be a wonderful experience. Your new dog will need lots of love, adequate exercise and attention. Keep in mind that dog ownership may include additional costs for training, grooming, and health care beyond annual vaccines and monthly preventatives. Its a lifetime commitment!
