Murray's Story
Meet Murray
Breed: Shih Tzu mix
Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge
Age: Senior
Weight: 15 lbs
Fun fact: I love to be right next to you wherever you go. Every step you take, every move you make, I'll be watching you.
Foster home: Fond du Lac, WI
Activity level: Low
Friendly with: Dogs and cats. He and the resident kitty just kind of peacefully coexist. Kids are unknown as there are none in the foster home, and Murray came from a shelter setting.
Sleep style: Currently sleeps in his play pen. BUT I STRONGLY suspect he would love to sleep with his humans. He's a great 'little spoon' as well as a furnace to help on cold winter nights.
Meals: mounded 1/4 cup of From Pet Food Adult Gold Small bits twice daily (morning and night).
Favorite snack: anything from a human so far, though we limit. He enjoys Gracie's Freeze-dried beef Liver Delights, chicken heart, peanut butter hearts, Stella and Chewy's Meal Mixer.
Meds: None
Snore-o-meter: 1/10
Bark-o-meter: 2/10, he is a polite houseguest
Shedding meter: 0/10 he is gong to need regular grooming.
Walk out song: Aerosmith's "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing"
Favorite color and 'fit: He's got old man tan and plaid written all over him. Tan? Yes, if he were on the car lot, he'd be looking for the old Buick that took gallons per mile and that car would be in old man tan. For around the house, he'd be picking out his favorite plaid sweater and settling in to tell you about how tough it was walking up hill both ways, "back in his day"
Favorite season: Spring all day. open the door and this gentleman will sit in the sun and just basking in the warmth.
Best Feature: His ability to love on anyone.
Dream job: Professional potato impersonator. When he settles in for his old man nap, he looks, and feels, like a 15lb bag of russets.
Personality: When he is not allowed to follow his foster mom he does protest. When putting down for bed, the first night he was rather vocal for a while about not being near a human but settled down. as time has gone on, its just a couple minutes of protest and then he relaxes.

Neutered
Microchipped
Housebroken~ lets you know when he has to go outside, though he has had a couple accidents in the house his first week out of the shelter.
Hangs out in a playpen when alone, have not tried a crate
UTD on vaccinations
UTD on preventatives

Murray is just the sweetest boy! Everyone who has met him has fallen in love with him. He can lack body awareness. 'Oh you were sitting here? Guess I'm sitting on you'. But mostly because he just wants to be near you. He enjoys playing with his stuffies and chasing after them.

A word on leaving Murray alone: When he is not allowed to follow his foster mom he does protest. When putting down for bed, the first night he was rather vocal for a while about not being near a human but settled down. As time has gone on, its just a couple minutes of protest and then he relaxes.

Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs.

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog.
