Murphy's Story

Sweet Murphy is a sweet senior gentleman with tons of love and affection to offer his new forever family. With his gentle spirit, affectionate personality, and love of car rides and hikes, Murphy is the perfect companion for everything from outdoor fun to couch rotting. Do you have room in your heart and a place in your home to give him the safe and loving retirement he deserves?

Murphy is currently fostered with six other dogs and a cat and gets along great with everyone. He's met horses, mules, and a pet steer at his foster home and has possibly been exposed to farm animals before, since he handles himself like an old pro. Murphy's forever home could include another dog or two for companionship, but maybe not six since he'd like first dibs on that prime spot on the couch or in the truck.

Murphy appears to be part Heeler or Aussie or other herding dog type mixed with German Shepherd or other large breed. He is a big boy at over 90 lbs!

Murphy was found in Libby near the Kootenai River and a door to door search revealed that no one had seen him before. We can speculate on how he ended up lost in an area unknown to him, but we will never know for sure. We feel that the best placement for him is within 100 miles of his foster home to ensure he remains safe and secure for every golden day he has left with his forever mom, dad, or family.

Murphy has been vaccinated, had his bloodwork updated, and will have his full senior dog wellness exam prior to placement.

Please contact Kirsten at Underdog Rescue 406-871-1278 or underdogmontana@gmail.com with any questions and to schedule a date with Murphy.
