Murphy (Benefactor Dog)'s Story

Meet Murphy!

At 7 years old, Murphy never expected to be looking for a new family.

This handsome Dalmatian was originally purchased from a breeder and has been with the same family since he was just 10 weeks old. With the arrival of a new baby, his family's circumstances changed, and Murphy was surrendered to Take Paws. After nearly seven years of knowing one home and one routine, that's a pretty big change for a sweet guy to navigate.

Murphy is neutered, house trained, crate trained, and knows his basic commands. He is heartworm negative.

And yes... our spotted gentleman has gotten a little fluffy around the middle. Murphy could stand to lose some weight, so his new family should be committed to quality nutrition, portion control, and regular exercise. Daily walks and a healthier routine will do this boy a world of good.

Murphy is a sweet, loving guy who still has plenty of life and love ahead of him. Because he appreciates having his personal space respected, we think he'll do best with dog-savvy, respectful children who understand boundaries, along with parents who will supervise interactions and make sure both Murphy and the kiddos are comfortable.

He's already learned how to live in a home. He knows the rules. He knows his commands. He knows how wonderful it feels to belong to someone.

What Murphy doesn't understand is why everything suddenly changed.

We're hoping his next chapter gives him something even better: a family who chooses him for the rest of his life.

Murphy doesn't need perfection. He needs some walks, a healthier menu, a comfy place to land, and people who will look at those spots and say, "You're home, buddy."

READ BELOW:

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily.
