Murphy (Aberdeen, WA)'s Story

Murphy is a 7 year old cattle dog from Utah. This boy is a mix of spunky, quirky attitude and couch potato. He has quickly settled into his foster home with his 2 foster people and 3 resident dogs.

He doesn't have a lot to say, as he isn't very vocal, but he can have some strong opinions about men and some other dogs. He is quick to show how he feels about humans and other dogs, but gets along if you read his body language. He's loving romping around with the 1 year old resident dog for a short bit of time, but has LOVED napping with the 9 year old resident dog. He prefers to be the in-charge type, so he hopes potential dog siblings are good followers.

Murphy is a bit hefty at 70 lbs and would love some leisurely activity and a good diet to get him to a comfortable weight. He walks well on leash, loves the beach, and will smile out the window for car rides. He can be a bit destructive with toys, but loves some short fetch sessions.

This guy is all about pets and loving, he can be a little nervous at first but melts into pets if you give him some time and gentle reassurance. He's a sucker for neck and tummy scratches, with eyes that soften and gaze up at you to tell you he loves you.

He's neutral around kids and doesn't feel the need to herd them or any large groups of people. You can always find him by his favorite persons side though, even outside in an open space- it's all about potential pets and treats, right?!

He would love a calmer home with lots of comfy places to nap and the occasional fun outting. While he prefers women, he comes around to men if they can move at his pace and offer lots of yummy snacks.

Murphy is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate core vaccines. He is currently being fostered in Aberdeen, WA. His adoption fee is $390.

If youre interested in adopting Murphy, please fill out an adoption application at pnwcdr.org/adopt.

Please note: We do not DNA test all of our foster dogs. Breed descriptions are our best guess based on appearance, parental appearance, paperwork, and other available information.

Our Adoption Process:
- Adoption Application
- Phone Convo
- Meet & Greet
- Home Visit
- Application Approval
- Adoption Fee & Contract ($390)

Our adoption application is at pnwcdr.org/adopt
Curious about fostering?
