Murphy's Story
Meet Murphy!

Murphy is a 12-year-old male Mini Poodle weighing about 14 pounds, and he’s pure heart wrapped in soft, curly apricot fur. He came to Dogworks Ohio from a shelter in Southern Ohio after being brought in as a stray, and he’s been winning everyone over with his calm, devoted nature ever since.

Murphy is a gentle, loyal boy who truly loves being close to his people. While he’s not overly clingy, he does like knowing his humans are nearby and looks to them for reassurance. Murphy does have vision issues—he’s not completely blind, but things aren’t always crystal clear—so he relies on his trusted humans to help guide him. In return, he offers endless sweetness, affection, and devotion.

He does best in a calm home where he can relax, feel safe, and enjoy the company of his people. A securely fenced yard (a standard 4 foot fence works great) is important for Murphy, as he loves to roam, sniff around, and explore at his own pace. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys socializing, making him a great companion for a dog-friendly home.

Murphy is potty trained, leash trained, and crate trained, though he doesn’t love being crated at first and may whine briefly before settling. He would much rather curl up on a soft bed or quietly roam the house. A gentle verbal correction like a simple “no” is usually all it takes to get his attention, and he responds well.

Neutering is scheduled for 2/3/26 and Murphy is ready to start the next chapter of his life with a family who will cherish him. If you’re looking for a calm, loving, loyal companion who just wants to be near his humans and enjoy the simple things in life, Murphy may be the perfect match.

He will be up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchip and his unmanly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

His adoption fee is $150.

Follow the link below for the adoption application.
